Drum roll please...announcing safetyfest 2010!

We are overjoyed to announce the launch of the newest gay way to build safer  communities in the Bay Area: safetyfest 2010!

This April, CUAV will host a 100% free festival celebration of all the fierce ways queer and trans people in the Bay Area stay safe and strut our stuff. Our communities already have so many of the tools we'll need to end violence and be truly safe in all the ways we deserve to be--we just need to share them!

How do you take care of yourself and the people and places you love? SAFETYFEST 2010 is THE gay way to do what we do best and then spread it around--skills, knowledge, art, food, craft, conversation, party, or simply that beautiful face of yours.

It'll all kick off with a sexy launch party, followed by dozens of amazing free workshops, performances, parties, and meet ups in different locations across the Bay, and wrap up with a hella fun closing celebration. Proceeds will benefit CUAV's 30+ years of supporting LGBTQQ survivors of hate violence and domestic violence to heal and create safer communities.

Here's how you can plug in:
BRING IT: share your skills, knowledge, art, food, craft, or company solo or with friends through a workshop, performance, party, or craft fair--we'll help you get all set up!
• WORK IT: help make it all happen by joining a safetyfest planning workgroup--if you have a couple hours or a couple weeks, we want you and we want you bad!
TURN OUT: come to any of our 100% free meet ups and bring your friends!
SPONSOR: sponsor safetyfest 2010 as an individual, business, or organization at $100, $250, $500, or $1000---your investment will make it all work!
HOST: lend us your home, business, or organization's space for one of our safetyfest events!
SIGN ON: sign your organization up as one of our community partners to show solidarity and help us get the word out!

Contact Morgan at safetyfest@cuav.org or (415) 777-5500 x318 to get connected or with questions.

WE WILL BE HAVING AN INFO SESSION ON THURSDAY, JANUARY 28TH FROM 6:30-8:30PM AT CUAV--IF YOU WANT TO PARTICIPATE IN ANY WAY, COME THROUGH AND WE'LL GET YOU PLUGGED IN! BRING YOUR FRIENDS!
